Ming's BBQ 2

After late nights of over indulgence and tomfoolery... I usually wake up in the morning to do a #1 and then a #2 in the afternoon. In this case... Ming's #2.

Newly minted and shiny, I had to see how it stood up to the original. It's classier and the floors aren't oily. Staff is friendly and old man "Ming" is styling a Fabio do these days. Don't expect him on a romance novel cover any time soon. Dare not to say a word or you'll be condemned to exile... He has been known as "Ming the Merciless" from time to time. So, shut up and use that mouth for one reason and one reason only... Eat. Flash Gordon never had it this good...

French Toast (HK style) - A cha chaan teng favorite. Tasty but nothing extraordinary. Comfy grub.

Fried Chicken Wings - Jumbo sized, crispy and juicy. It ain't no Popeyes but still good. Chomp chomp.

Congee - 1000 yr old egg and 'prok'. If they served this at soup kitchens, I'll be first online. Pride goes out the door for this delicious slop in a bowl.

Beef Chowfun - Wasn't exceptional, mebbe just a glitch here because Ming's #1 does an incredible job. But I would order it again next time here.

Pea Shoots - Fresh, young, tender and clean... Just like how I like my wimmen and veggies. Good stuff.

Fried Rice - Chinese wax sausage and bbq pork... Who doesn't like their sausage waxed and pork pulled? Nom nom.

Meat Combo - Roast pork, roast duck and char siu. The real 3 food groups, that's all you need to know.

Clams w/ Bay Leaves Sauce - Fucking delicious. I can slurp up these lil pearl tongues faster than the bearded clammer can dig up.

Fried Seafood Combo - Shwimp, scallops and sqwid. Crispy, tender and tasty. Just God damn order it for Christ's sake... No confessions required.

Ming's #2 is a great addition to the area which has a good ethnic grub scene already but the cha chaan teng items are a breath of fresh air, different and fun. Original Ming's will still be my standby b/c of proximity but it's always good to have a backup in case of a natural disaster. A man can not live on rice alone, he needs bbq meats and chowfun as well.
