404 Lounge - Closed

This joint will prolly suffer the same fate as the previous tenants... A sharp kick in the nads. Restos on a one way street is bad news, throw limited parking in there and it's worse. It's no Bull, a little Spanish resto on Juniper had that problem too... And poof! Gone it went like a troll.

I was quite surprised by the menu with it's Latin and Caribbean influence. Will it be authentic? Prolly not. So, I stuck with the cheap charlie wings special on Tuesday. Hot wings they are not, breaded fried ghetto pigeon wings they are. They were obviously fresh from the factory and came frozen in a designer brown bag... I wouldn't say they were bad, just not real hot/buffalo wings.

The variety of flavors sounded decent- hot, mild, spicy mango, Cajun and lemon pepper... I tried 4 flavas but ended up pretty blah. The problem is the breading, they don't work with sauces well. It just works better on crispy skin. But at 25 cents a pop, who cares, stuff your fat face until you grow another chin or keel over.

The service is what's expected from a joint like this that's in Castleberry... Nil. It's all a waiting game, see how long a patron can go without dwinks or food. Pitcher of beer sat on the bar for over 5 minzies, bartender decides to walk to the back to socialize... Um, is it that difficult to drop off the pitcher on your way? C'mon, hook a brotha from anotha mutha up! My peeps were oppressed by the man for over 200 years... How about a lil something for the effort?

Good place for the residents in the building to grab a drink or a bite... For everyone else, not so much.

You go home now, fatboy, you eat everyting... No more food for you!

Boo-yah!
